This PDF pattern has detailed instructions to help you make your own crochet Cancer Care Bear.
Together with Carla, the previous owner of Yarn Artistry, we dreamt and created Greg the Care Bear. Carla is an amazing human who very sadly lost her husband Greg to cancer. She found some comfort through crochet and we wanted to create a beginner friendly design to hopefully also bring some comfort to people going through a similar experience. Greg the Care Bear is quite a bit bigger than my usual designs, because we wanted him to be a good size to cuddle. Most of the proceeds from this pattern are donated to cancer research, so thank you for supporting a great cause.
Finished size: approx. 30 cm/12 inches
Materials
• DK or 8ply yarn in brown (∼100g) and teal (<20g) (you can use any colour to represent the cancer you want to portray)
• 3.5mm crochet hook
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle, black embroidery thread and scissors
• Polyfill
