Feature – Amigurumi Showcase Shortlisted Designs

Hello crafters!

I’m here to report on the #amigurumishowcase that was organised over on Instagram. My pattern, Gigi the Galah (you can see her design process here) was not shortlisted but fear not, I have now sent my pattern to testers and it will be released for free in a few weeks as promised!

I love the crochet designer community, everyone has been so gracious and will be publishing their entry to the contest for free sometime this month, either on Instagram or on their blogs, so you can expect another feature post in the near future with a list of brand new awesome pattern curated by yours truly 😉

In the mean time, let’s come back to the 6 shortlisted designs! Each designer will release their pattern for free on Instagram in the next 3 weeks, and the public vote will happen on the 4th of October. I already have a couple of favourites and I can’t wait to make their patterns (hello Spidee and AvoCato!)

I will be reporting back with some pictures of my makes from the Showcase (I’m also already testing a few patterns for other designers, they are super cute and I’m sure you’ll love them!). Enjoy having a look at the shortlisted entries below and let me know which one is your favourite!

¡Lo logramos! Y hay que celebrar con dos honguitos 🍄🍄💕… Para mí ser parte de los 6 finalistas en este concurso ya es un logro grande, nunca imaginé ser seleccionada y fue una total sorpresa. Es un honor ser parte del panel final considerando la cantidad de diseños súper brutales que se presentaron, pueden mirarlos aquí #amigurumishowcase Es muy gratificante poder ser parte esto, ya que es un paso más para diseñar peluches a crochet. Un diseño que conlleva mucha exploración, hay que pensar mucho como hacerlo, hacer y deshacer para rehacer y dar con un resultado que nos alegre y poder compartirlo. Here's my submission for #amigurumishowcase 😁 As some of you had guessed it correctly, this fish-shaped ice cream is called Taiyaki Ice Cream 🍦 Taiyaki alone is actually a fish-shaped waffle filled with red bean paste. But over time, the sellers try to make more variety for the filling, that's how we have Taiyaki ice cream now 😄 (Swipe ➡️ to see the real pic of it) . I got the inspiration from @toneverlandwefly ice cream. Her vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles looks so yummy 😋 And besides, it's SO HOT here in Japan 🌞🔥 So can we make exception to forget about food callories and buy two cones of ice cream? 🤪😂🍦 . • FREE PATTERN • CATCARON • My Catcarons made it to be one of the 6 finalists for the #amigurumishowcase contest! I’m so excited and overwhelmed to be part of this event. It has been a wonderful and inspiring journey to me, I entered the contest just to feel more motivated on what I was working on and hoped to connect with many more crochet lovers. To me, being a member of such a community is already an amazing gift.
