Hello crochet friends!
By now, it might not be a surprise to you that I love Easter; eating chocolate and decorating eggs were always my favourite activities. Since I started crochet, I have wanted to design my own Easter series, and this is just what I did last year. This Easter Eggs collection was inspired by plants. In this pattern, you will find a basic egg pattern, as well as instructions to transform your egg into a carrot, a cherry tree and a cactus!
If you’d like an easy to read, printable PDF, you can get one for a small fee by clicking any of the links below.
Materials
• DK or 8ply yarn in orange and green for the carrot, brown and pink for the cherry tree and green for the cactus (I like to use Ricorumi DK or Paintbox cotton DK*)
• 3.5 mm crochet hook*
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
• Polyfill*
• Embroidery thread for the details
Abbreviation used (U.S. terms)
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch
st: stitch
*…*: repeat
(…): work in the same stitch
dc: double crochet
inc: 2 single crochet in the same stitch
dec: single crochet 2 stitches together through the front loop only (invisible decrease)
All pieces are worked through both loops of the stitches and in the round without joining unless stated otherwise in the pattern. It is recommended to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round. To make it easier, you can stuff your amigurumi as you go.
