Hello crafters!
You may already know this but September is Biodiversity month here is Australia. To celebrate this, I thought I’d do a special feature on a new amigurumi pattern book that came out in August: The Amigurumi Wildlife Adventure book, released by designers Irene Strange and Ilaria Caliri (I’ve linked the Ravelry page to the e-book above, as well as each designer’s website).
This book features 12 amazing new designs of endangered animals from around the world, and they are all so so cute! You can also read a description of each animal (I was honestly not sure what some of them were!) and some fun facts about them. And the best, in my opinion, is that 10% of all the sales will go to an organisation that supports these species (for example the WWF).
I have already made the whale shark, as they are one of my favourite animals and I can’t wait to make more! (my toddler may have asked for the orangutang next ☺️). I’ll update this post to include pictures of all my makes from the book!
If you are on Instagram or on Ravelry, you can also join the make-along that is currently running until the 15th of September, by tagging your pictures with the #amigurumiwildlife and there are some pretty awesome prizes to be won!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this feature, I think I will feature more designers in the future, especially if there are contests/make-along/crochet-along happening so that you can join in with the fun too!
Happy crocheting!
X Emma
