Hello crochet friends!
You may know that I am slightly obsessed with Halloween, and I am super excited to share this newest Halloween inspired pattern with you! This is my first time designing a bat, and I thought I would keep it simple for my first design, although I would love to design more bats in the future (we have quite a few cute native bats in Australia that would look adorable as amigurumi designs).
This pattern has been designed using velvet yarn, and I have tried a few different brands and thicknesses so far, and they all look so cute! I have not tried making this with cotton yarn, but I would be so interested to see if the pattern translates well, so if you do end up making it with a cotton yarn, please reach out!
Enjoy the pattern!
Materials
• Chenille chunky/bulky yarn in grey (Paintbox Yarns Chenille* works great and has a good range of colours)
• Optional: DK or 8ply yarn in black and white if crocheting the eyes (I like the Ricorumi DK*)
• 6 mm crochet hook* (or any hook size that works for your tension with chunky yarn)
• Optional: 3.5 mm crochet hook* (if crocheting the eyes)
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
• Polyfill
