Hello crochet friends!
I am so happy to be back with a brand new free pattern, the shooting star!
I started writing this pattern because of a design contest that Veronica from Garknuten organised last year. She was after a small pattern that she would be able to feature in her yearly calendar for 2024 and had chosen the theme of space with a cool colour palette that included yellows, pinks and purples. At the time, my eldest boy was really obsessed with space, so I thought it would be the perfect occasion to create something that he would also enjoy. I had lots of fun designing this shooting star and I even won a digital version of the calendar for participating, which was very exciting!
This pattern has also become a bit of a favourite of mine to make as a gift. In the last year, we moved house and so my boys had to change their daycare centre. I wanted to make something special for their teachers to show them our appreciation for all the care they have given them over the year. The best thing about it is that it is quite fast to make and you can also customise it with any colour you’d like, which was really cool because I was able to make it really special for each teacher, by making a star in their favourite colour. I turned this cute make into a keychain and also printed a little card I designed to gift with them. You can find the image for the card at the end of this post, I hope you like it!
