Free crochet pattern – Celebration Champagne

Hello amigurumi enthusiasts!

With the end of the year fast approaching, I thought it was time for me to share again the free champagne pattern I released for my mailing list subscribers last year! This champagne is perfect for big and little kids to celebrate any occasion. You can embroider the label with anything you’d like, or leave is blank if you prefer!

Materials

• DK or 8ply yarn in bottle green, gold, off-white and red (I like to use Ricorumi DK or Paintbox cotton DK*)
• 3.5 mm crochet hook*
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
• Polyfill*

Abbreviation used (U.S. terms)

ch: chain
sc: single crochet
st: stitch
*…*: repeat
BLO: back loop only
inc: 2 single crochet in the same stitch
dec: single crochet 2 stitches together through the front loop only (invisible decrease)

Finished size: approx. 12 cm/ 5 inches

All pieces are worked through both loops of the stitches and in the round without joining unless stated otherwise in the pattern. It is recommended to use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round. To make it easier, stuff as you go.

Bottle – starting in bottle green make 1

Work in rounds
Round 1. sc 6 in a magic ring
Round 2. inc in each st around
Round 3. *sc 1, inc* around
Round 4. *sc 2, inc* around
Round 5. *sc 3, inc* around
Round 6. In BLO, sc in each st around
Rounds 7-18. sc in each st around
Round 19. *sc 3, dec* around
Round 20. sc in each st around
Round 21. *sc 6, dec* around
Round 22. sc in each st around
Round 23. *sc 5, dec* around
Round 24. sc in each st around

Start stuffing the bottle now. Do not stuff too firmly or your bottle will not stand! Continue stuffing as you crochet the neck of the bottle.

Round 25. *sc 4, dec* around
Round 26. sc in each st around
Round 27. *sc 3, dec* around
Rounds 28-29. sc in each st around

Change to gold

Rounds 30-33. sc in each st around
Round 34. In BLO, *sc 1, inc* around
Rounds 35-36. sc in each st around
Round 37. *sc 1, dec* around
Round 38. *dec* around

Fasten off, finish stuffing and weave in ends.

Wax seal – in red make 1

Work in rounds
Round 1. sc 6 in a magic ring

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Label – in off white make 1

Work in rows
Ch 11
Row 1. Starting from 2nd ch from hook, sc 10 down the chain, ch 1, turn
Rows 2-4. sc in each st, ch 1, turn
Row 5. sc in each st

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

1. Sew the wax seal to the bottle, at the colour change line between rounds 28-30.

2. Sew the label to the front of the bottle, centered with the wax seal between rounds 11-17.

Optional: embroider a message to the label.
