Easter Eggs – 2022 Collection

Hello crochet friends!

I am back in 2022 with a brand new Easter egg collection! This year, I asked my followers on Instagram what they wanted to see, and I had an amazing suggestion to make dinosaur eggs. Because both my boys love dinos, this was the perfect suggestion and I’ve had so much fun making those 3 dinosaur eggs come to life!

Materials
• DK or 8ply yarn in:
red, beige and brown for the triceratops
blue, purple and brown for the parasaurolophus
green, brown and rainbow for the stegosaurus (I like to use the Ricorumi DK*)
3.5 mm crochet hook*
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
Polyfill*
• Embroidery thread for the face details (6 mm safety eyes optional)

Abbreviation used (U.S. terms)
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
dc: double crochet
st: stitch
*…*: repeat
[…]: crochet in the same stitch
inc: 2 single crochet in the same stitch
dc-inc: 2 double crochet in the same stitch
dec: single crochet 2 stitches together through the front loop only (invisible decrease)
sc3tog: single crochet 3 stitches together
FLO: front loop only

All pieces are worked through both loops of the stitches and in the round without joining unless stated otherwise in the pattern. It is recommended to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round. To make it easier, you can stuff your amigurumi as you go.

Basic egg pattern
Each egg is made using this basic egg shape. Use the colour(s) corresponding to the egg-dinosaur you are making.
