Easter Eggs – 2023 Collection

Hello crochet friends!

It has become a little bit of a tradition, and I am all for it! I’m happy to share with you my latest Easter Egg amigurumi collection, this time inspired by Australian animals. You probably already know that I am hugely inspired by nature, and since I’ve moved to Australia, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by our amazing wildlife! This year, I’ve made three eggs inspired by our awesome animals, a cassowary, a platypus and a koala. I hope you enjoy these patterns!

Materials
• DK or 8ply yarn in:
light blue, electric blue, red, orange and grey for the cassowary
brown, grey and black for the platypus
grey and black for the koala (I like to use the Ricorumi DK*)
3.5 mm crochet hook*
• Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
Polyfill*
• Embroidery thread for the face details (6 mm safety eyes optional)

Abbreviation used (U.S. terms)
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
st: stitch
*…*: repeat
[…]: crochet in the same stitch
inc: 2 single crochet in the same stitch
sc3-inc: 3 single crochet in the same stitch
dec: single crochet 2 stitches together through the front loop only (invisible decrease)

All pieces are worked through both loops of the stitches and in the round without joining unless stated otherwise in the pattern. It is recommended to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round. To make it easier, you can stuff your amigurumi as you go.
