Hello crafty friends!
It is time again for my monthly craft video blog! November has been quite productive, but I think I will take some time off during December as we have (hopefully, if all goes to plan) holidays planned to see family. I have finished a few Christmas presents (I was early for once!) and I have finally completed the amigurumi school of magic, yay! As always, you can find the video by clicking the button below, thanks for reading me and for watching 🙂
EDIT: The end of the video has been corrupted and I am not able to recover it 🙁 I am so sorry about this, I will show you the book ‘Once Upon a Time… in Crochet’ next time, have a great festive season and see you in 2022!
Finished objects
- Clark’s socks (inspired by Jane Richmond’s Tube socks) free pattern – I’m super happy with how those socks turned out! Clark is a bit hesitant with socks at the moment but I hope he will want to wear them when the weather cools down again.
- Haru the Unicorn (by Brin de Coton) paid pattern only in French – This little unicorn was fast and easy to make, and the pattern was very well detailed. It is only in French but you could use my quick guide if you wanted to make it too (the link to my post is below in the Useful Resources section).
- Amigurumi School of Magic (by Irene Strange and Ilaria Caliri) paid pattern – I have finished the crochet along at last! Well, I haven’t actually made the graduation pattern but I’m sure I’ll get around to it at some point. I’m super happy I finished this huge project, there were so many little elements to make but they were all fun and different! I especially love my new satchel and I’ve already been using it to hold my wallet and keys when I go out.
- Celebration Champagne bottle (by EmmaCraftsDesign) free pattern – I recently filmed a video tutorial on how to make this champagne bottle! I’m very excited and a little nervous about this first tutorial in English and I hope you enjoy it. The video will be live next week on the 18/12/2021 on my YouTube channel!
- Champiplat (by Ohana Hook) free pattern in French only – I tested this cute little flat patch for Ohana Hook, and it looks great on our Christmas tree. This is Champipi’s shadow, and it’s great because Clark still really loves his little mushroom.
- Snowflake (by EmmaCraftsDesign) free pattern – One of the first pattern I’ve ever designed! I felt a bit nostalgic and though this would be a perfect little ornament for our Christmas tree. I’ve used a yarn called Frost, which I thought was super appropriate to make snowflakes.
- Christmas Hard Candy (by EmmaCraftsDesign) no pattern – I had lots of fun making those little candies, I think they would be super cute stocking fillers, would you be interested in a pattern?
- Gengar (by Sabrina Somers) paid pattern from the book Pokemon Crochet – I love how my finished Gengar turned out! This is a present for my little brother, who got me the book for my birthday. Gengar is currently on its way to France and I hope my brother loves him! The pattern itself was good, but a bit different from what I’m used to so it took a while to get used to it. Overall, I still really enjoyed this project and I think I’ll make a few of the Pokémon in it!
Works in progress
- Wanida Socks (by Cookie A) paid pattern from the book Sock Innovation – I have started a new pair of socks for myself! It’s been ages since I have made myself socks so I’m quite excited about them. The pattern is super pretty and interesting. Sadly though, my yarn winder broke while I was caking my hank of yarn so the yarn is all tangled and it’s been very annoying. I will get through this because I really want new socks!
- Archie the Archaeopteryx (by EmmaCraftsDesign) design in progress – This design is going quite well, I’ve finished the written part and the translation to French, and I am now onto the pictures. I still need a few progress pics but I should have it ready for the new year!
- Dijiang (by EmmaCraftsDesign) design in progress – I went into a design rabbit hole after watching Shang Chi! I really loved the movie, and fell in love with Morris, the Dijiang! I have decided to make a crochet version, but instead of going with the colour chosen in the movie, I decided on a more traditional look for my Dijiang, oranges and reds.
- Advent Calendar (by Yarnspirations) free pattern – I’ve been super inspired by some of my friends who were doing handmade advent calendars this year. So I decided to start making my own for next year. I’ve made the background for the hanging, the Christmas tree and the star at the top. I won’t be making the ornaments to put on the tree, instead I was thinking of filling the pockets with little treats. That’s why I’ve decided to make the pockets slightly bigger than what the pattern calls for, and hopefully they are big enough to fit treats for both my boys.
Acquisitions
- Once Upon a Time… in Crochet (by Lynne Rowe) – Not entirely an acquisition as I borrowed this book from the library, but there are a few patterns I want to make from it. The first will be the seven dwarves from snow white, which I will convert into Christmas gnomes. The second is the goats from the Three Billy Goats Gruff tale. I have never seen goats I really liked but those are super cute so I cannot wait to make one or two!
